Job Description

The CT Technologist position, designated as 22J25, is a specialized role within the radiology department, responsible for using computerized tomography (CT) scanners to diagnose illnesses and abnormalities in patients. This position requires a skilled professional who can operate advanced imaging equipment, ensure patient safety, and deliver high-quality diagnostic images for further analysis by doctors. The role demands attention to detail, the ability to follow strict protocols, and excellent patient care skills. As a CT Technologist, you will work closely with radiologists, other healthcare professionals, and patients to provide accurate imaging results that are crucial for effective medical treatment.


Responsibilities

  • Operate and manage CT scanning equipment efficiently for accurate imaging results.
  • Prepare patients for CT procedures, explaining the process and addressing concerns.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain radiation safety standards at all times.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of CT equipment through regular checks and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to interpret imaging results and provide diagnostic findings.
  • Document patient information, imaging procedures, and results accurately in medical records.
  • Stay updated on new imaging technologies and techniques through continuous education.
  • Assist in scheduling appointments and managing the workflow of the imaging department.
  • Provide compassionate care and support to patients throughout the imaging process.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure high standards of imaging quality.
  • Coordinate with healthcare teams to optimize patient care and imaging services.
  • Train and guide junior technologists and interns in CT scanning practices and protocols.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field required.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in CT specialized practices.
  • At least 2 years of experience working as a CT Technologist in a clinical setting.
  • Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, radiologic principles, and imaging protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and medical colleagues.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work in high-pressure environments.
  • Proficiency in radiation safety standards and practices, with attention to detail.
