Aldar Education is currently seeking an outstanding Art Technician for Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi commencing August 2026.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Assist school in achieving its overall vision and strategic intentions and to contribute to the achievement of relevant targets as set out in the school’s improvement plan and self-evaluation form
• Comply with regulations pertaining to health and safety at work legislation and adhere to school policies relating to safe working practice and equal opportunities regulations
• Comply with the school’s Performance Management Policy ensuring challenging annual targets are set and to fulfil the role of performance management reviewer if directed to do so by the Principal
• Engage in annual training linked to child protection, safeguarding and health and safety together with all training deemed appropriate for the purpose of school improvement or performance management
• Comply with the school’s staff dress code at all times including the wearing of photo ID / lanyard
• Comply with the school’s computer Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) at all times
• Attend all staff briefings
• Sign out and sign in at relevant school reception if off site at any point during the normal working day
  
  
  

Art:

• Prepare materials and resources for lessons (paint, clay, printing materials, textiles, etc.).
• Support set up and clear away practical activities.
• Organise and maintain art equipment and specialist tools.
• Manage stock levels.
• Prepare GCSE and A-Level coursework materials.
• Mount, label and display student artwork around the school.
• Assist with exhibitions, open evenings and showcases.
  
  
  

Music:

• Tune and maintain classroom instruments, including ukuleles, guitars, keyboards, and percussion instruments.
• Prepare class sets of instruments prior to lessons and ensure they are returned and stored correctly afterwards.
• Maintain and organise music practice rooms, rehearsal spaces, and instrument storage areas.
• Carry out regular checks on audio equipment, including microphones, speakers, amplifiers, mixers, and cabling.
• Identify, record, and report damaged instruments and equipment to the Head of Creative Arts.
• Undertake minor repairs and maintenance of instruments where appropriate and within competence.
• Ensure instruments and equipment are stored safely and securely.
  
  
  

Administrative Duties

• Maintain inventory of department equipment.
  
  
  

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree
• An “A” Level or IB in Art would be an advantage.
• Appreciation of the importance of high standards
  
  
  

Minimum Experience

• Experience in similar role
• Experience with working in an educational setup.
  
  
  

Job Specific Knowledge & Skills

• Excellent literacy and communication skills (both written and spoken) as a large part of the role involves communicating with SLT, Heads of Department, students and parents.
