Job Description

The Crane Technician 27N25 position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for skilled professionals to work in the dynamic field of heavy machinery and cranes. As a Crane Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of crane equipment, primarily used in construction and lifting operations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical knowledge and hands-on experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of crane models and types. This role requires a diligent, problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Crane Technician must be ready to respond to emergency breakdowns and capable of performing scheduled maintenance to minimize downtime. A strong emphasis is placed on safety practices, compliance with industry standards, and delivering optimal performance.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of various types of crane machinery.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in crane systems.
  • Repair and replace defective components to ensure machinery operates safely.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks to reduce the risk of equipment failures.
  • Maintain and update service and repair logs for all equipment handled.
  • Calibrate precise instruments and control devices to maintain crane accuracy.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to optimize machinery performance and usage.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards at all times.
  • Provide emergency repair services to minimize operational downtime.
  • Order and maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools necessary for repairs.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians or apprentices on best practices and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding operation status.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in crane maintenance or related field.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems in cranes.
  • Capability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
  • Physical ability to perform rigorous manual labor and work at heights.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and respond to emergency breakdowns as needed.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in complex situations.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work with diverse teams.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for multiple site locations.
