Job Description

The Control Room Operator is responsible for monitoring and regulating various processes within a facility from a centralized control room. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of equipment and systems, making timely decisions to avert disruptions. The operator must be adept at utilizing advanced technology and computer systems to oversee processes, troubleshoot issues, and maintain optimal performance. With a keen eye for detail, the Control Room Operator will watch over the control systems and respond to alarms, viewing this role as pivotal in maintaining a safe and productive environment. Responsibilities

  • Monitor equipment and systems to ensure optimal operational efficiency and performance.

  • Conduct regular equipment inspections and report any irregularities promptly.
  • Maintain accurate logs of operational activities and incidents within the control room.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and communication.
  • Analyze data from various systems to identify trends or issues needing attention.
  • Execute emergency response plans in accordance with established procedures.
  • Perform troubleshooting on systems and equipment to resolve technical issues.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times during operations.
  • Update and maintain control room documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Train and support new team members on control room protocols and equipment use.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for better operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Control Room Operator in a relevant setting.
  • Strong understanding of control room operations and technological systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick decisions.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and emergency response protocols.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and other departments.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure environments while maintaining attention to detail.
