The Role? 

  • The Senior Contracts Specialist role is primarily responsible for leading the reviewing and coordinating of responses to client contractual agreements. 
  • Ensure that the business risks are reduced to a minimum and that the company contracting principles are upheld. 
  • Supporting the relevant regions, alongside regional leadership and Corporate in the review, risk analysis and implementation of a range of material agreements. 

Main Responsibilities & Key Result Areas

  • Drive contractual support in AMEC Region directing the contracts specialist for support (if applicable). 
  • Develops Tender Strategies in accordance with company processes and procedures. 
  • Helps maintain a forward plan for forthcoming contractual support projects. 
  • Lead the review of client contractual documents ensuring risk and exposure areas are highlighted and qualified, giving full justification for the qualification. 
  • Ensuring the correct application of relevant agreements and contracts currently in place. 
  • Manage qualification responses until closure ensuring compliance with any specific prescribed formats for submissions. 
  • Ensure target dates are complied with for responses to clients. 
  • Ensure contract and commercial negotiations are conducted in accordance with company procedures. 
  • Release of received works into the Engineering and Project Departments of the company. 
  • As required following a contract award, participate in any handover/kick-off meeting with the operations team, including any relevant support functions, of the tender and any qualifications. 
  • Take a role in continually reviewing and updating working processes and procedures. 
  • Assist and in some instances, lead in the compilation of material agreements with agents, distributors, joint venture partners, and others. 
  • Provide assistance and advice in the resolution of contractual disputes. 
  • Developing new departmental documentation and procedures. 
  • Establishing and managing security requirements of contracts for relevant regions. 


Requirements

Essential: 

  • Minimum HNC/HND in Business Management, Quantity Surveying or Law or similar. 
  • Experience in a contracts or proposals role or an engineering discipline function involved in producing cost estimates or proposals. 
  • Commercial and contractual diligence. 
  • Risk analysis.  

Preferred: 

  • Project Management and delivery vs deadlines. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
