Primary Responsibilities:

Pre-Award Phase:

• Support the Business Development Team by performing and managing reviews of draft contracts received as part of Proposals and populate GMB checklists as may be required.
• Provide guidance to Clients and ILF on suitable forms of contract, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Memorandums of Understanding and Joint Venture Agreements, follow up with compiling and/or commenting if received from external parties; review and negotiate same as necessary.
• Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure that insurance and guarantee-related contractual obligations are thoroughly evaluated.
• Ditto Compliance/HSSE to ensure proper and informed evaluation of requirements is performed.

Post Contract Phase:

• Support ILF disciplines and external clients by providing guidance on contractual and legal matters.
• Monitor and manage contractual and legal requirements.
• Actively participate in contractual meetings with third parties including clients and sub-contractors.
• Safeguard ILF and clients by collaborating with project teams through an “early-warning” system to identify potential claims, propose strategies to mitigate/negate claims, be actively involved in meetings.
• In collaboration with the project teams, compile changes (variations/amendments and the like) for Client approval.
• Similarly review and establish a negotiating strategy and assist the project teams when receiving change requests from sub-contractors.
• Support ILF disciplines and external clients by compiling contractual correspondence as appropriate.
• Ensure the project team are aware of their contractual obligations.
• Supervise contracts personnel across projects
• Identify suitable training for Contracts personnel, establish achievable KPIs for each member of the team.
• Provide contractual and legal guidance in-house and to outside projects as necessary
• Attend site(s) in support of project teams including meetings with Clients and Contractors as necessary
• Develop procedures for contracts management and administration in line with IMS requirements and maintain an overview of practices to ensure compliance
• Oversee development and maintenance of contract registers on ILF
• Support clients and ILF disciplines to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
• Assist in supporting internal/external audits as may be called upon
• Development of ILF UAE capability by assisting in the training of staff e.g. Lunch & Learn events.
• Be aware of and obey the Company Health, Safety and Environmental, and Quality rules & perform the activities as per IMS.

Qualifications:

• Strong commercial awareness and experience of Contract Law, which include drafting contract/specification clauses.
• Proven experience in contract negotiations & vendor management.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience in dispute resolution
• Analytical and decisive with high initiative.
• A quick-learner, good team player as well possess the aptitude to work well independently.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in MS Office application.
• English language proficiency is mandatory.
• Legal LLB and/or Degree in Quantity Surveyor/Law/Business/Contracts or related Studies.
