Job Description

A Construction Manager plays a vital role in overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completion. They are responsible for managing daily operations, ensuring the project adheres to the budget, and keeping up with timelines. This position requires someone who can handle the complexities of construction business processes, manage a team effectively, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, a deep understanding of construction methods and technologies, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders including architects, engineers, and subcontractors. A Construction Manager must also navigate the logistical and costs challenges, ensuring that the project's vision is fulfilled while maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all stages of construction projects from start to finish.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resources, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and construction specialists to outline project specifications.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Perform risk management to minimize potential project risks and liabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality assurance standards.
  • Prepare and review contracts, plans, and construction bids for projects.
  • Monitor construction progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure timelines are met.
  • Lead and manage the on-site construction team, providing direction and motivation.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders to keep them informed of project progress.
  • Resolve any conflicts that may arise during the construction process.
  • Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are obtained before project commencement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a construction manager or in a similar role for at least 5 years.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods.
  • Solid understanding of project management tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in negotiating contracts.
  • Strong leadership skills with the capacity to manage and motivate teams effectively.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and general IT and Microsoft Office use.
