Construction Director - High-Speed Rail Railway Infrastructure Abu Dhabi UAE

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Director to support the delivery of a major railway infrastructure project.

The successful candidate will provide senior leadership across construction and installation activities, ensuring effective coordination between engineering disciplines, construction teams, partners, contractors and project stakeholders.

This is a senior leadership position requiring extensive experience in complex railway construction projects and proven delivery experience on High-Speed Rail projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all construction and installation activities across the project.
• Manage detailed construction planning, sequencing and site coordination.
• Coordinate site access, site possession and site readiness prior to commencement of works.
• Coordinate construction activities with subsystem managers, consortium partners, the Engineer and third parties.
• Manage construction interfaces with external civil contractors.
• Identify and resolve construction conflicts, interfaces and site-related issues.
• Monitor construction progress and consolidate progress reporting.
• Participate in construction coordination and progress meetings.
• Coordinate with Quality teams regarding NCRs, non-conformances and corrective actions.
• Coordinate closely with HSE teams to ensure safe execution of construction activities.
• Ensure construction works are delivered in accordance with project schedule, quality, HSE and contractual requirements.
• Provide senior-level leadership and decision-making throughout the construction phase.
  
  

Minimum Requirements

• University degree in Construction, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Master’s degree and/or Chartered Engineer status is preferred.
• Minimum 20 years of professional experience in leadership and management of similar railway systems and construction works projects.
• Strong experience in railway system delivery, construction and system integration.
• Mandatory experience in the implementation and delivery of at least one High-Speed Rail project in a similar senior capacity.
• Mandatory minimum of more than 5 years of total High-Speed Rail experience.
• For this requirement, High-Speed Rail refers to railway systems operating at speeds above 250 km/h.
• Strong construction leadership, stakeholder management and multidisciplinary coordination capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex construction interfaces and resolve critical site issues.
