The Composite Production Lead will play a critical role in overseeing all aspects of composite materials manufacturing within our company. This individual will be responsible for leading a team of production technicians, optimizing production processes, ensuring quality control, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Production Leadership:

Lead and manage a team of production technicians, providing clear direction, coaching, and support to ensure the successfulexecution of production goals.Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the production team. Conduct regular team meetings to communicate production targets, provide updates, and solicit feedback from team members.

  • Manufacturing Process Optimization:

Develop and implement strategies to optimize manufacturing processes, improve efficiency, and reduce cycle times. Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to implement new technologies, materials, and processes aimed at enhancing product quality and production efficiency. Identify and address bottlenecks or inefficiencies in the production workflow to ensure smooth operations.

  • Quality Assurance :

Establish and enforce quality control standards to ensure that all composite products meet or exceed customer specifications and industry standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes and finished products to identify and address quality issues. Implement corrective and preventive actions as needed to address non-conformities and improve overall product quality.

  • Resource Planning and Management:

Develop production schedules and resource plans to meet customer demand while optimizing resource utilization and minimizing lead times. Coordinate with procurement and inventory management teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components for production. Monitor and track production metrics, including yield, scrap rates, and downtime, to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with other departments, including engineering, supply chain, quality assurance, and sales, to ensure alignment of production activities with overall business objectives. Participate in cross-functional meetings and initiatives to address production-related challenges, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of [20] years of experience in composite materials manufacturing, with a strong understanding of composite layup, curing, bonding, and finishing processes.
  • Proven leadership experience, with demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of composite materials, including fiber reinforcements, resins, additives, and curing processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex production issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and techniques, with experience in developing and managing production schedules.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and standards, such as ISO 9001 or AS9100, preferred.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies, such as Six Sigma or Kaizen.
  • Lean, 3P, 5S, SQCDP
  • Knowledge and good experience with SAP preferred
