Job Description

As a Commis Chef specializing in Asian cuisine, you will be an integral part of our culinary team, working closely to support senior chefs in our dynamic kitchen environment. Your primary role will be to prepare, cook, and present dishes, following specific Asian culinary techniques to ensure an authentic dining experience for our guests. Responsibilities

  • Assist in food preparation following traditional Asian recipes and cooking methods.
  • Ensure all ingredients meet our quality standards before use in dishes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations at all times.
  • Follow directions from senior chefs to prepare and cook Asian dishes.
  • Support senior chefs in plating presentations with precision and artistry.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure meals are prepared on time.
  • Monitor food stock levels and report shortages to kitchen supervisors.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and hygiene standards in all kitchen operations.
  • Participate in training sessions to improve cooking skills and techniques.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any malfunction to the chef.
  • Assist in inventory management and waste reduction strategies in the kitchen.
  • Engage in cleaning counters, floors, and appliances as part of daily routines.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a kitchen environment focusing on Asian cuisine.
  • Basic understanding of Asian culinary techniques, spices, and cooking flavors.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with the kitchen team.
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to culinary excellence.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced kitchen environment.
