Job Description

As a Commis Chef specializing in Asian cuisine, you will have the exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced kitchen environment where the art of Asian culinary techniques can be explored and refined. Your role is fundamental in providing support to the kitchen team by preparing ingredients and ensuring the smooth execution of menu items. You will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of a variety of Asian dishes, utilizing fresh ingredients and traditional methods to deliver authentic flavors. Your passion for Asian culinary arts and attention to detail will contribute to the high standards of quality expected in our restaurant. Working closely with the Head Chef and sous chefs, you will have the chance to develop your skills further and innovate with Asian culinary trends.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of Asian dishes.
  • Support the kitchen staff in daily operations and tasks as assigned.
  • Ensure ingredients are prepared and stored according to safety standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workstation at all times.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to perfect and innovate recipes and menus.
  • Assist in the reception and storage of deliveries while checking for quality.
  • Follow the instructions and recommendations from the immediate supervisors.
  • Handle kitchen equipment and utensils with care and understanding.
  • Participate in training to enhance skills and contribute to team knowledge.
  • Responsible for sanitizing and cleaning food preparation areas regularly.
  • Adhere to all dietary and food safety regulations as prescribed in the kitchen.
  • Assist in conducting inventory checks and report discrepancies promptly.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen setting is advantageous.
  • Strong passion and interest in Asian culinary arts and cuisines.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety practices.
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and improve culinary skills.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with a diverse kitchen team.
  • Availability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.
