Job Description

Role Summary

The Collection Strategy Analyst is responsible for designing, monitoring, and optimizing collections strategies across the delinquency lifecycle. The role sits at the intersection of data analytics, credit risk, and operational execution -- translating portfolio behavior into actionable strategies that improve recovery rates, reduce credit losses, and enhance customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy Design & Optimization:

  • Develop and refine segmentation-based collections strategies across DPD buckets (early, mid, late, and pre-write-off)
  • Design treatment paths (SMS, IVR, agent, legal, settlement) by risk segment, product, and exposure tier
  • Build and maintain roll rate, cure rate, and flow rate models to inform strategy decisions
  • Conduct champion/challenger testing on contact strategies, offer structures, and channel sequencing

Portfolio Analytics & Reporting

  • Produce regular MIS reports covering delinquency trends, bucket migration, recovery performance, and vintage analysis
  • Monitor strategy KPIs including Contact Rate, RPC Rate, PTP Rate, kept-PTP rate, and net recovery rate
  • Identify emerging risk signals in portfolio behavior and escalate with structured analysis
  • Support ECL and provisioning conversations with delinquency flow data

Operational Support

  • Translate strategy into dialer configurations, agent scripting, and workflow rules in coordination with operations teams
  • Work with IT/operations to implement and validate strategy changes in collections platforms
  • Support capacity planning by modeling contact volume, resolution rates, and agent productivity requirements

Regulatory & Policy Compliance

  • Ensure all collection strategies and communication approaches comply with applicable regulations (e.g., CBUAE Consumer Protection Regulation or relevant local framework)
  • Maintain documentation of strategy rationale, change logs, and approval trails per internal governance standards

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Present strategy recommendations and portfolio findings to senior risk and collections leadership
  • Coordinate with Credit Risk, Finance, and Operations to align collections strategy with broader portfolio objectives
  • Support collections agency performance reviews with data and strategy insights

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
  • 1-3 years of experience in collections strategy, credit risk analytics, or a related function within banking or fintech
  • Strong proficiency in SQL; experience with Python or R is an advantage
  • Hands-on experience with collections or dialer platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to build and interpret flow rate, roll rate, and vintage analyses
  • Solid understanding of IFRS 9 provisioning concepts and their relationship to delinquency management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in consumer lending, personal finance, or small-to-medium loan portfolios
  • Exposure to digital collections channels (in-app nudges, chatbots, auto-debit logic)
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing collections practice in the relevant market
  • Experience designing or evaluating settlement and restructuring frameworks
