Job Description

The CNC Machinist is a skilled professional responsible for managing CNC machinery to produce high-quality, precision parts and components. This role involves operating computer-controlled machines to cut, shape, and finish metal and plastic pieces to exacting specifications. As a CNC Machinist, you are integral to the manufacturing process, ensuring that the components meet stringent quality standards and aligning with production schedules. This job demands a strong understanding of machining processes, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues swiftly. Effective CNC Machinists communicate well within their team and uphold a safe and organized workplace environment. Suitable candidates for this role have experience in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, and possess profound problem-solving skills.


Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines to perform machining operations accurately.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machine settings.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Inspect products to ensure they meet quality specifications and tolerance levels.
  • Monitor machine operations, adjusting controls and settings as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to optimize machining processes.
  • Document and report any consistent machine errors or deficiencies to supervisors.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are stored safely and properly after use.
  • Follow all safety protocols and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Calibrate machine tools and set up components for production runs effectively.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve efficiency and reduce production waste.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
  • Solid understanding of CNC machinery safety protocols and procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in basic math and computer operations for machine setting inputs.
  • Good physical condition, capable of standing for long periods.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in team settings.
  • Experience with CNC programming and CAD/CAM software is an advantage.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
