CNC Machinist 12J25

A CNC Machinist plays a pivotal role in the manufacturing process, operating and programming Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines to produce precision parts and components that meet quality standards. This position is perfect for a detail-oriented individual with strong mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach to technical work. You will be expected to interpret technical drawings, set up the machines, and monitor the machining process to ensure optimal functionality. The job involves working with a variety of materials, including metals and plastics, assessing and adjusting programming to enhance production processes, and conducting routine maintenance on machinery. As a CNC Machinist, you will be an integral part of the production team, focusing on efficiency, safety, and accuracy at every stage of the manufacturing workflow.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and understand detailed technical blueprints and schematics for part production.
• Set up and operate CNC machines in accordance with company standards and guidelines.
• Monitor the machining process and make adjustments to machine controls as needed.
• Program machines using G-code and interpret CAM software inputs accurately.
• Inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet quality specifications.
• Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance tasks and troubleshooting issues.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize design and production processes.
• Log production activities and maintain accurate documentation for future reference.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations in the workplace.
• Train and mentor junior machinists and apprentices in best practices and techniques.
• Identify improvements in machining operations to enhance productivity and quality.
• Respond quickly to machine malfunctions and implement corrective actions effectively.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in CNC machining preferred.
• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong understanding of CNC programming and G-code language proficiency.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics accurately.
• Proficient in using measuring tools: micrometers, calipers, and inspection gauges.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues effectively.
