Job Description

The Civil Project Engineer plays a critical role in the management and execution of construction projects from conception to completion. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles and methods related to civil engineering projects. The Civil Project Engineer will collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to develop and implement project plans according to the specifications and regulations. The individual will be responsible for overseeing project design, estimating the cost, and ensuring the project progresses as scheduled while managing resources efficiently. Natural problem-solving skills are essential to address unforeseen challenges and maintain project integrity. The role demands excellent organizational and communication skills to liaise effectively between different stakeholders and ensure that all team members are aligned with project goals.


Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project plans, specifications, and schedules for civil engineering projects.
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Conduct site investigations and assessments to gather data for project planning.
  • Prepare cost estimates and budgets based on project requirements and specifications.
  • Oversee and manage project execution, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, laws, and regulations throughout project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project progress, identifying potential risks and implementing corrective actions.
  • Facilitate communication between project stakeholders, addressing concerns and resolving issues.
  • Evaluate and approve design changes, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and safety compliance.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation and reports for stakeholders.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical support and expertise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering projects management.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred or in progress.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, project management, and construction processes.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) and other engineering software applications.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to analyze data, make informed decisions, and provide strategic solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an aptitude for innovative solutions.
