A Civil Project Engineer plays a pivotal role in managing and executing engineering projects, particularly those related to civil construction and infrastructure. This position requires a blend of technical acumen, project management skills, and experience in the civil engineering domain. The Civil Project Engineer is responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. In this role, you will work closely with teams of engineers, architects, and construction personnel to coordinate all aspects of the project lifecycle, from initial planning and design through to completion and handover. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, as the Civil Project Engineer will be required to interact with both internal team members and external stakeholders, including clients and regulatory bodies, to achieve project objectives.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate civil engineering projects from start to finish.
• Develop detailed project plans including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to budgetary and time constraints.
• Conduct site inspections to oversee work in progress and evaluate completed works.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and other professionals to achieve project goals.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations for projects.
• Prepare technical reports, sketches, and designs to support project development.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to handle issues timely.
• Manage project costs and resources to achieve the best possible outcomes.
• Facilitate communication within the project team and across departments for clarity.
• Provide technical support and training to junior engineering staff as required.
• Maintain project documentation and records for reference and auditing purposes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in civil engineering and project management.
• Proficient in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Primavera P6.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
• Excellent project management skills with PMP certification preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills crucial for stakeholder interaction.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and work effectively under strict deadlines.
