Job Description

A Civil Foreman is a skilled leader responsible for supervising and coordinating tasks related to civil construction projects. This role requires extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, strong leadership skills, and a hands-on approach to ensure project milestones are met. As a Civil Foreman, you will be the liaison between project managers and the construction workforce, ensuring that safety protocols are adhered to and that work is executed according to the clients' specifications and quality standards. You will play a key role in motivating the team and ensuring efficient use of materials and machinery, all whilst maintaining an optimal working environment that promotes teamwork and adherence to project deadlines.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations at construction sites to ensure activities align with project plans.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to facilitate project execution on-site.
  • Allocate resources such as labor, equipment, and materials effectively to maximize productivity.
  • Ensure all safety procedures and protocols are strictly followed by the construction team.
  • Coordinate and see through the site inspections and address any issues raised promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of construction site activities and generate detailed reports.
  • Conduct routine checks on equipment used on-site and arrange for maintenance and repairs.
  • Facilitate communication between project managers and the construction team to ensure clarity.
  • Resolve conflicts and grievances among construction workers to maintain a harmonious workplace.
  • Review and analyze progress reports and adjust work operations to meet deadlines.
  • Schedule and oversee work crew assignments to ensure project timelines are maintained.
  • Assist in training and development of construction personnel to enhance their skills and efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; advanced training in construction is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Civil Construction with 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies and interpreting technical documents.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and capacity to handle project adjustments seamlessly.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for team coordination.
  • Adept in using construction management software and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong commitment to safety and ability to enforce safety regulations proactively.
  • Willingness to travel to various job sites and work extended hours as necessary.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various weather conditions.
