Job Description

The Civil Foreman is a key member of our construction team, responsible for supervising the work of skilled and unskilled workers in the construction of structures and infrastructure. This role is integral to ensuring that all projects are executed in compliance with safety regulations and to the highest quality standards. The Civil Foreman will coordinate operations and oversee workers on-site, ensuring projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with experience in managing a crew, understanding project blueprints, and communicating effectively with both site staff and project managers. The successful candidate will be able to handle a dynamic and fast-paced work environment while maintaining safety and productivity standards.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction workers on site daily.
  • Interpret construction blueprints and ensure work is carried out accordingly.
  • Ensure all project specifications, guidelines, and safety regulations are met by team members.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety procedures and protocols.
  • Liaise with project managers to ensure efficient progress and address any concerns.
  • Plan and assign tasks to team members, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Monitor progress of work to ensure timelines are met and quality is maintained.
  • Manage on-site logistics to facilitate smooth operations and decision-making.
  • Provide regular progress reports and updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure work complies with quality standards and specifications.
  • Resolve any work-related issues that arise on site quickly and effectively.
  • Train and mentor junior workers and apprentices, promoting career development.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
  • Proven experience as a Foreman in civil construction or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills with the ability to delegate tasks effectively.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans accurately.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with management, contractors, and team members.
  • Proficiency in using construction management software and tools is advantageous.
