CIVIL ENGINEER

Job Description

WSP is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Abu Dhabi team, supporting the delivery of major transportation, roads, utilities, and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will contribute to the planning, design, coordination, and delivery of civil engineering solutions while working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project outcomes across all design stages.

Responsibilities

• Undertake civil engineering design and technical delivery for roads, highways, transportation, utilities, and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, reports, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Support the development of concept, preliminary, and detailed design solutions.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including Roads, Structures, Utilities, Landscape, and Traffic disciplines.
• Ensure designs comply with client requirements, project specifications, and relevant local and international standards.
• Review design drawings, technical submissions, and project deliverables.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering studies, technical reports, and design presentations.
• Support project managers and senior engineers in the delivery of project milestones.
• Liaise with clients, authorities, and stakeholders as required.
• Assist in resolving technical challenges and developing practical engineering solutions.
• Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings, and value engineering exercises.
• Ensure quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of project outputs.
  
  
  

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 5-10 years of civil engineering experience on transportation, roads, utilities, and infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience working within engineering consultancy environments.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering design principles and infrastructure design standards.
• Experience in the preparation and coordination of engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Familiarity with UAE authority requirements and infrastructure design standards.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong communication, technical report writing, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working on major infrastructure projects within the UAE or GCC region is preferred.
• Membership of a recognized professional engineering institution is advantageous.
• Consultant-side infrastructure design experience is essential.
