Job Description

Civil Engineer 18N25 position entails the design, construction, supervision, operation, and maintenance of substantial infrastructure projects and systems in both public and private sectors. Projects include roads, buildings, airports, tunnels, dams, bridges, and systems for water supply and sewage treatment. Civil engineers also serve as supervisory managers responsible for designing and constructing essential organizational projects. Working in tandem with architects, construction managers, and other engineers, they ensure that projects comply with regulations, fit budgets, and are completed in a timely manner. Their work impacts the environment and society significantly, requiring sustainable practices and safety protocols to be maintained across all projects. Candidates are expected to have substantial knowledge and expertise in civil engineering processes, alongside strong project management skills.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and design civil engineering projects to meet specific requirements and standards.
  • Supervise and manage construction sites to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Conduct comprehensive site investigations to assess environmental and structural conditions.
  • Collaborate with architects, planners, and other engineers on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Analyze survey reports and maps to plan new civil projects or optimize existing ones.
  • Prepare detailed project reports, specifications, and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Assess construction materials and determine efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
  • Ensure compliance with state, local, and federal government codes and regulations.
  • Provide technical advice and solutions to engineering challenges or unforeseen issues.
  • Monitor progress of construction projects and adjust plans as necessary for project success.
  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure high standards of construction work.
  • Manage project budgets and timelines to deliver projects within defined costs and schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field required.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) credential preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering projects.
  • Strong proficiency in civil engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of construction laws, safety regulations, and engineering standards.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration.
