Lead the Future of Precision Guided Munitions as Chief Technician – Mechatronics

About The Role

Are you a seasoned technical expert ready to lead the integration and testing of cutting-edge precision guided munitions? As our Chief Technician (Mechatronics), you will take charge of the first builds, integration, and acceptance testing critical to ensuring the technical maturity and industrialization success of our manufacturing data packs — across multiple high-impact defense projects.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Lead the integration, preparation, and acceptance testing of precision guided munitions for ground, flight, platform integration, and evaluation
  • Oversee and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) in collaboration with development teams and system engineers
  • Manage the development of tools, jigs, and fixtures required for manufacturing and acceptance testing
  • Create and maintain detailed assembly/disassembly procedures and technical documentation ensuring mature manufacturing data packs
  • Establish robust facility infrastructure for testing and integration purposes
  • Mentor and train colleagues, preparing clear instructions and user guides to ensure compliance with all workflows and processes
  • Act as a key bridge between development and production teams to facilitate know-how transfer and industrialization

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: Minimum 20 years in development-engineering, preferably within precision guided munitions or related defense sectors (experience requirements can be adjusted for qualifications)
  • Qualifications: National Diploma, National Higher Diploma, B.Tech., M.Tech., or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering principles, including material properties, manufacturing processes, harnessing, shielding, heat/surface treatments
    • Thorough understanding of systems engineering, baseline management, and lean principles
    • Proven problem-solving, planning, and organizing capabilities
    • Skilled communicator capable of influencing technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and mentor teams in complex engineering environments
