Job Description

The role of a Cashier is crucial in ensuring smooth and efficient operations at the point of sale. As a Cashier, you will be the face of the business, responsible for managing transactions, handling cash and credit transactions, and providing excellent customer service. You will need to have a strong attention to detail to process payments accurately and quickly while ensuring the satisfaction and trust of our customers. This position demands someone who is not only friendly and approachable but also able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain precision under pressure. You will work closely with other team members to support day-to-day retail operations, contribute to financial accuracy, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. Your role will also involve handling customer inquiries and complaints, providing product information, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.


Responsibilities

  • Handle cash, credit, or check transactions with customers efficiently and accurately.
  • Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure amounts are correct.
  • Scan goods and collect payments from customers while maintaining steady transaction flow.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers willingly.
  • Resolve customer complaints and provide relevant information for inquiries effectively.
  • Ensure the checkout station is organized, clean, and equipped for customer service activities.
  • Maintain inventory and report shortages or damage to the appropriate personnel promptly.
  • Balance cash drawer by counting cash at the beginning and end of shifts accurately.
  • Process returns, refunds, and change requests patiently and accurately.
  • Assist in maintaining the overall appearance and efficient functioning of the store.
  • Collaborate with team members to address customer needs and enhance service quality.
  • Follow all procedures and guidelines for a safe and secure working environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a customer service role is highly beneficial.
  • Strong numerical skills with the ability to handle financial transactions precisely.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
  • Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations and multitask effectively.
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification required.
  • Basic knowledge of point-of-sale software and retail systems preferred.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
