Job Description

As a Cashier, you will be responsible for processing transactions accurately and efficiently while providing excellent customer service. Your main duties will include operating cash registers, handling financial transactions, and providing customers with receipts. In addition to processing payments, you will also be responsible for balancing cash drawers, resolving any discrepancies, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Strong communication skills are essential as you will interact with customers on a daily basis, answering questions, addressing concerns, and providing assistance as needed. The ideal candidate for this role will have a high school diploma or equivalent, previous cashier experience, and a friendly demeanor. If you are detail-oriented, reliable, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, this position may be the perfect fit for you.


Responsibilities

  • Handle cash, credit, and check transactions with accuracy.
  • Scan goods and collect payments from customers.
  • Issue receipts, refunds, and change to customers.
  • Ensure all transactions are entered correctly in the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
  • Answer customer inquiries and provide information on products or services.
  • Resolving customer complaints promptly and efficiently.
  • Count cash in the register at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure accurate amounts.
  • Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and replenishing as needed.
  • Adhere to all cash handling procedures and security measures to prevent theft and fraud.


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong numeracy and cash handling skills
  • Previous experience in retail or customer service preferred
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills and POS systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
