Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in performing complex surgical procedures involving the heart, lungs, esophagus, and other thoracic organs. This role demands a commitment to exceptional patient care, multidisciplinary collaboration, and continuous advancement in the field of cardiothoracic surgery.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed patient assessments to diagnose cardiothoracic conditions and determine surgical candidacy
  • Perform a broad spectrum of cardiothoracic surgeries, including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repairs/replacements, lung resections, and minimally invasive procedures
  • Develop tailored preoperative and postoperative care plans to maximize patient recovery and outcomes
  • Work closely with cardiologists, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient management
  • Monitor and manage patient progress, promptly addressing any complications arising from surgery
  • Participate in academic activities and research to stay current with advancements and best practices in cardiothoracic surgery
  • Maintain meticulous medical records in compliance with clinical and regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Completed residency in General Surgery and fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery required
  • Minimum of 5 years experience performing cardiothoracic surgical procedures
  • Proficient in both open and minimally invasive cardiothoracic surgical techniques
  • Strong knowledge of cardiovascular, pulmonary anatomy and pathophysiology
  • Excellent decision-making skills, particularly under pressure
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Committed to professional growth and staying updated with surgical innovations
  • Valid medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction
