Ensure implementation of cabin safety standards and procedures by monitoring cabin crew compliance with safety, security, medical, emergency procedures and standards on-board Etihad airways aircraft.
Accountabilities
Ensure cabin crew compliance with applicable GCAA regulations and procedures as per Operations Manual Part A (OM-A) and Safety and Emergency Procedures Manual (SEPM) in coordination with relevant departments and stakeholders.
Develop and produce revisions for the SEPM & Cabin Crew Quick Reference Handbook (CCQRH) based on regulatory and operational requirements under the guidance of MCSO. Ensure acknowledgements for all revisions issued are received from all cabin crew and records maintained as per Quality approved processes.
Conduct research into the development of new safety procedures &/or update existing procedures based on industry best practice while maintaining regulatory compliance. Communicate new/updated procedure and incorporate into manuals and update the Pre-flight Safety Briefing questions as per SEPM/OM-A revisions.
Conduct investigations on cabin crew safety performance, cabin operations audit findings and other cabin safety matters whenever required, in coordination with Corporate Safety Department (as required), In-flight Performance & Operations and other relevant stakeholders. Provide recommendation and/or corrective actions to prevent incident reoccurrence and for the improvement of cabin crew safety performance.
Conduct risk assessments as part of Change Management (prior to any major change in processes and procedures, implementation of new equipment, etc.), liaise with relevant stakeholders and ensure mitigations are agreed upon prior to implementation.
Manage the processing of all passenger-related Health & Safety Reports (HSRs), highlight hazards and risks to the operations, and ensure that trends arising from the analysis of HSRs are addressed with the relevant department for the improvement of cabin safety.
Produce required reports and produce the monthly safety highlights to address commonly reported issues or trends to promote cabin crew safety awareness.
Qualifications
Have comprehensive knowledge of:
Applicable UAE safety and operational regulations
Etihad’s operational manuals
Etihad’s cabin procedures
Have familiarity with management and safety systems in the area of aviation.
University degree or Diploma preferably in management or cabin crew licence.
Ability to communicate in verbal and written English.
Ability to understand regulatory information.
Leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to give clear direction.
Holds or have held a valid cabin crew licence and the associated ratings appropriate to a type of operation conducted by the company.
SMS training
Minimum five years’ experience in a Cabin Crew role with at least 2 years’ experience in supervisory level desired.
