Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research to identify pricing trends and potential suppliers.
  • Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with suppliers diligently.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers for optimized purchasing.
  • Review and evaluate supplier proposals and bids to ensure value for money.
  • Collaborate with departments to understand procurement needs and align purchasing strategies.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality or delivery promptly.
  • Maintain a database of supplier contacts and contract details methodically updated.
  • Prepare purchase orders and ensure all procurement activities are documented accurately.
  • Analyze inventory levels and adjust purchasing strategies to minimize stockouts and overstock.
  • Stay updated on industry trends to anticipate and manage changes in the market.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining product quality and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations in all buying activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in a purchasing or procurement role of at least 3 years.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience drafting and managing supplier contracts.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to manage large volumes of data effectively.
  • Proven ability to develop and sustain productive supplier relationships professionally.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration.
  • Familiarity with purchasing and inventory management software systems is an advantage.
