Job Description

As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the supply chain operations of an organization. This involves procuring the best products and services at competitive prices to ensure the company meets its operational and strategic goals. The role requires you to be a keen negotiator, effectively liaising with suppliers and stakeholders to establish strong working relationships. You will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating market trends, developing purchasing strategies, and ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services. Your objective is to enhance inventory turnover and maximize the profitability of the product range, thereby contributing significantly to the overall success of the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Develop purchasing strategies that align with organizational objectives and financial goals.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure advantageous terms.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends to identify potential supply chain risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure timely and efficient procurement of goods and services required by the organization.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to promote reliable sourcing practices.
  • Conduct regular assessments of supplier performance against key metrics for improvement.
  • Handle the entire purchase order cycle from requisitions to final invoice settlement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast future procurement needs accurately.
  • Optimize inventory levels to meet demand without overstocking or stockouts.
  • Stay updated with industry developments and incorporate best practices into purchasing function.
  • Prepare reports and provide insights to management on purchasing performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements in all purchasing activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role within a reputable organization.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills to influence and engage stakeholders effectively.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data sets for informed decision-making.
  • Proficiency in using purchasing software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • High level of organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
  • Strong understanding of procurement and inventory management principles and practices.
