Job Description

The Buyer is a pivotal part of a company’s supply chain strategy, responsible for procuring products services, and materials essential to the manufacturing process or daily business operations. Tasked with ensuring the timely acquisition of quality resources at the most competitive prices, the Buyer collaborates closely with suppliers, reviews market trends, and remains vigilant about contract negotiations. They manage supplier relationships to ensure alignment with quality standards while maintaining inventory controls and cost efficiencies. In this dynamic role, they are strategic thinkers and adept negotiators who can balance cost-effectiveness with high-quality acquisitions. You’ll contribute significantly to the organization’s bottom line while ensuring seamless operational flow, all achieved with a keen understanding of market trends and procurement strategies.


Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate suppliers, analyzing their capabilities and competitiveness.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to secure cost-effective procurement solutions.
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and services without compromising quality standards.
  • Monitor market trends and forecasts to mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to support business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and anticipate purchasing needs.
  • Manage inventory levels effectively to ensure optimal stock availability and cost control.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on purchasing activities and forecast future demand.
  • Evaluate existing contracts and renegotiate terms to improve savings and performance.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and legal guidelines during the procurement process.
  • Assist in developing procurement strategies aligned with company goals and market conditions.
  • Resolve issues with suppliers related to delivery, quality, or pricing discrepancies efficiently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field preferred.
  • At least three years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
  • Proficient in contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market trends and data.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective negotiations.
  • Experience with procurement software and inventory management tools is advantageous.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
