A successful Buyer will conduct extensive market research, maintain strong relationships with suppliers, and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality of products. In this role, attention to detail, analytical skills, and an understanding of market trends are vital for optimizing procurement processes and fostering sustainable supplier partnerships. The Buyer will work closely with multiple departments including logistics, quality assurance, and finance to ensure that products meet both company and customer standards while adhering to budget constraints and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess potential suppliers through market research and industry networking.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to achieve cost-effective procurement solutions.
• Monitor market trends to predict changes in supply and demand and adjust buying strategies accordingly.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality goods.
• Coordinate with production and logistics teams to align procurement schedules with production plans.
• Analyze purchasing data and reports to implement improvements in procurement processes.
• Establish and manage supplier performance metrics to ensure consistent quality and service levels.
• Resolve supplier grievances and discrepancies in a prompt and effective manner.
• Evaluate and select new products or suppliers based on quality, service, availability, and reliability.
• Prepare and present regular procurement reports to management on purchasing activities and savings.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations in all procurement activities.
• Collaborate with inventory control and warehouse teams to optimize inventory levels and logistics costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills for effective supplier management.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to identify market trends and cost-saving opportunities.
• Proficient in inventory management software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple contracts and suppliers.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including finance, logistics, and production.
• Knowledge of business law and contractual terms related to procurement.
