About the Role:
GHD is seeking a highly skilled and experienced BIM Manager to join our team in the UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Information Management (IM) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) and functions on various projects, ensuring the effective implementation of CDE (Common Data Environment) and BIM standards and workflows. This role requires a strong understanding of digital solutions, project planning, and design coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Accountable for planning, setting up and operation of project digital workflows and systems for design authoring and information management using Common Data Environment (CDE) and design authoring (BIM) applications according to the BEP, including:
Identifying necessary resources (human, time, software, hardware) for the project BIM function.
Setting up the project in Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
Establishing Model Federation Strategy and preparing Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP).
Preparing BIM Execution Plan (BEP) which specifies all project digital systems and workflows incl. digital platforms, e.g. Autodesk Construction Cloud - ACC, Aconex, etc. and authoring (BIM) tools, e.g. Revit, Civil 3D, Tekla, Etabs, etc., standards, information exchange protocols, modelling methodology and model management.
Training the project team in implementation of BEP requirements and ACC workflows on project.
Providing daily support and troubleshooting in using digital design authoring applications and information management platforms.
Accountable for the compliance of the project deliverables with the BEP, including:
Federating shared models from Discipline Teams using ACC and Navisworks.
Managing digital procedures of coordinating design work and models of different Disciplines and resolving design Issues including clashes.
Conducting clash analysis of the federated model, identifying the issues causing clashes and rising them as Issues in ACC ..
Producing weekly reports covering the status of models and other digital deliverables, numbers and trends of clashes and issues per Discipline and issue Priority.
Conducting and / or attending design and model coordination with internal Teams and Clients.
Verifying and approving the quality of Revit, Navisworks and other models and deliverables for their compliance with the project naming standards, content segregation, spatial coordination, validation of parameters, etc. according to the BEP both for the interim (e.g. weekly) and Milestone submissions to the Client.
Documenting lessons learned and best practices from a project and submitting them to the BIM & Information Management Lead.
Qualifications and Experience:
University Degree in a construction field such as Architecture, Structure, Building Services, or similar.
Minimum 5 years of experience as a project BIM Manager on multidisciplinary projects in the UAE.
Proven hands-on experience in preparing and managing Master Information Delivery Plans (MIDPs) and BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) for multidisciplinary projects.
Proven hands-on experience in using digital tools and platforms like Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
Proven hands-on experience in using at least one design / model quality checking tools like Autodesk Model Checker, ACC, Solibri or Revizto.
Proven hands-on experience in using tools for automating design and information management workflows like Dynamo, Grasshopper, etc.
Experience in executing strategies for managing design issues (incl. clashes) using digital tools like ACC, Navisworks, Revizto and similar.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) for daily collaboration, official correspondence, technical documents and tutorials.
Strong mentoring skills and experience in training project teams in BIM methodology and above-mentioned digital tools including detailed documenting of workflows and preparation of training materials.
Ability to become a Registered Architect/Engineer in the UA.
