Job Description

A Building Information Modeling (BIM) Coordinator plays a crucial role in the architecture, engineering, and construction industries by ensuring that projects utilize BIM technologies effectively. The BIM Coordinator is responsible for liaising between project managers, architects, engineers, and construction teams to facilitate a streamlined and efficient workflow using digital models. These professionals are adept at handling various BIM software and coordinating with different stakeholders to address specific project needs and challenges. The position demands a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of construction processes and design principles. A successful BIM Coordinator ensures that all digital models and data meet the required standards and contribute to cost savings, improved scheduling, and overall project success.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with architects and engineers to develop BIM models for projects.
  • Monitor and maintain project schedules to ensure timely delivery of BIM deliverables.
  • Facilitate communication between project teams using BIM collaboration tools.
  • Ensure BIM models adhere to all relevant industry and project standards.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on BIM data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Train team members on BIM software and best practices as needed.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve clashes using BIM Clash Detection tools.
  • Participate in project coordination meetings to discuss BIM-related issues.
  • Develop and update BIM execution plans to guide project workflows.
  • Support the integration of BIM data with other project management software.
  • Document and report all BIM processes and outcomes for project records.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for BIM-related challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience working with BIM technologies in construction projects.
  • Proficiency with BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD is essential.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and project management principles.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with BIM Clash Detection and coordination workflows is a plus.
  • Ability to conduct thorough quality checks and ensure compliance with industry standards.
