Job Description

The Automotive Spare Parts Store Keeper is an essential role within our organization, responsible for managing the storage, distribution, and logistics of automotive spare parts. This position requires a detail-oriented and organized individual who can efficiently maintain inventory levels, oversee the stock condition, and streamline the store operation processes. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of automotive parts and systems, as well as strong communication skills to liaise with suppliers and customers. You will work closely with mechanics and service advisors, ensuring the timely availability of parts with a focus on minimizing downtime for vehicle repairs. Previous experience in inventory management or in an automotive environment is highly beneficial for this role.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of automotive spare parts to ensure availability.
  • Oversee receiving, storing, and distributing spare parts to designated locations.
  • Monitor stock levels and perform regular audits to ensure data accuracy.
  • Liaise with suppliers for timely delivery and negotiate favorable terms.
  • Ensure all stored parts are correctly labeled and properly organized.
  • Assist mechanics and service advisors in locating required parts quickly.
  • Implement and maintain efficient storage systems and procedures.
  • Manage outdated or obsolete inventory and decide on disposal methods.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the storage area.
  • Prepare reports on inventory, damages, and discrepancies for management review.
  • Coordinate with shipping and receiving departments to enhance operations.
  • Update and maintain accurate records using inventory management systems.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a storekeeper or in inventory management preferred.
  • Familiarity with automotive parts and industry systems is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and basic computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for interactions with suppliers and staff.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving spare parts.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate stock records and inventory audits.
