JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for comprehensive radiological evaluation and diagnosis of all the referred patients with hearing problems. The role is also responsible in correctly guiding the patients regarding all the available educational and rehabilitation services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains sufficient inventory of material supplies and equipment for performance of duties
- Performs Hearing Aid Evaluations and prescribing hearing aids to adults and children
- Analysis and diagnose hearing loss and vestibular disorder and manage/treat the same
- Performs, interprets, records and takes appropriate action on a range of complex Audiology tests for the correct diagnosis of hearing and balance disorders.
- Provides an ear mould fitting service, training patients and their carers on the correct insertion of ear moulds and dealing with hearing aid repairs
- Conducts electro-acoustical testing of all aids returned from a repair or by patients and ensures that any faulty aids are sent for repair
- Determine the candidacy for a cochlear implant and to do mapping for the cochlear implant.
- Providing vestibular diagnostic and rehabilitative services
- Maintains documents and all findings in a clear, concise and legible manner
- Facilitates and takes ear impressions of current hearing aid users as and when appropriate
- Performs neonatal hearing screening in the absence of the audiologist’s assistant
Accountabilities
- Ensure all documents and all interventions are in the appropriate format
- Ensures patient receives the highest standard nutrition services and care and quality healthcare.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience :-
Required:
- NLT 2 years of experience in field of Speech and Hearing Sciences or in Audiology in a hospital setting
Desired:
Educational Qualification: Required:
- BSc in Speech & Hearing, or Audiology or Hearing & Speech Sciences.
- AND Current National License
Desired:
- MSc. in Speech & Hearing, or Speech Language Pathology, Speech Sciences or Communications Disorders/Sciences (will reduce 1 year from the required years of experience
