Job Summary / Introduction

The Associate Director, Project & Sustainable Finance is an integral part of the Asset & Project Finance (APF) team, working closely with senior team members to support the origination and execution of Asset & Project Finance transactions across the CIB and FIG client base, contributing to revenue generation for Global Corporate Finance. The role involves developing an understanding of airlines, lessors, project developers, banks, Export Credit Agencies (ECAs), and other aviation and project finance participants to identify asset financing opportunities aligned with FAB’s client and credit appetite. The position also requires close collaboration with Corporate and Financial Institutions coverage teams, product partners, and other key stakeholders, while supporting business strategy, transaction execution, ESG initiatives, financial analysis, client advisory activities, and the continued development of the bank’s asset, project, and export finance capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the APF team in originating, structuring and executing APF transactions for FAB clients globally across the CIB and FIG segments and help the team to deliver a revenue target in contribution to the overall Global Corporate Finance budget.
  • Support the Team Head in developing and implementing the Aviation Industry Business Strategy as well as the Project Finance Business Strategy.
  • Providing strategy updates as required based on market environment.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the Aviation sector including but not limited to Airlines, Lessors, Manufactures, Aviation Banks & and other financiers.
  • Support the Team Head on the various ESG initiatives for the loans business and regularly provide updates internally to the team on development in the ESG space.
  • Support the team on Project financing transaction inclusion Equator Principle reporting etc.
  • Preparing projections, analyzing cash flow models, running sensitivities.
  • Support the team on advisory mandates selectively undertaken for strategic reasons for key clients of FAB.
  • Join discussions with Credit on specialized transactions including review of the green light memos, credit memos, specialized waiver and amendment requests with a view to understand the transactions.
  • Assist the team in researching certain topics as required for internal or external purpose.
  • Prepare pitch books, term sheets, information memorandum, financial models, mandate letters etc.; and review feasibility report, financial statements and financial, legal and technical due diligence reports.
  • Support the team in their review and conclusion of financing and security documentation – to ensure compliance with credit approved terms.
  • Maintain pricing details for all APF transactions.
  • Assist the Team Head in ensuring the APF Team is up to date on all internal training programs.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Project Finance (PF) and Aviation Finance.
  • Good knowledge of Global and Regional Aviation and Project Finance sector.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of International Aviation debt markets and syndicated loan markets.
  • Good understanding of PF structures, typical participants, assessment tools, and knowledge of PF markets, syndicated loan & debt capital markets.
