Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Resident Engineer - Electrical to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will support the senior engineering team in the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems for commercial and industrial projects. You will work on-site to ensure electrical installations comply with local codes and international standards while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.

• Assist in the design and planning of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems
• Conduct site inspections and field surveys to assess electrical infrastructure and identify potential issues
• Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and documentation using CAD software
• Monitor electrical installations to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications
• Troubleshoot electrical problems and provide technical solutions in a timely manner
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project efficiency
• Maintain organized records of inspections, tests, and maintenance activities
• Support the preparation of technical reports and project documentation
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and best practices on all job sites
• Assist in the commissioning and testing of electrical systems prior to handover
  
  

Qualifications

**Required Skills and Experience:**

• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, systems, and components
• Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, ETAP, or equivalent)
• Familiarity with electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEC, or local UAE standards)
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications
• Experience with site inspections and field work in electrical projects
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skill set
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Organized approach to managing multiple tasks and documentation
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  
  

**Preferred Skills and Experience:**

• Experience with building management systems (BMS) or automation controls
• Knowledge of renewable energy systems or sustainable electrical solutions
• Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies
• Previous experience working on construction or engineering projects in the Middle East
• Experience with electrical testing and commissioning procedures
• Knowledge of power quality analysis and energy efficiency optimization
