Job Description

As an Assistant Pharmacist, you will be a crucial part of the pharmacy team, working closely with pharmacists to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective dispensing of medications and pharmaceutical supplies. You will assist in the maintenance of the pharmacy inventory, uphold stringent health and safety regulations, and provide exceptional customer service. Your role is vital in ensuring that patients receive the correct medications and understand their proper use. As an Assistant Pharmacist, you will also contribute to the overall management and operation of the pharmacy, fostering a professional environment that encourages learning and growth. Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and timely.
  • Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, patient profiles, and inventory management.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and needs.
  • Help monitor the supply levels and order new inventory as needed to prevent shortages.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the pharmacy setting.
  • Assist with the pharmacy's operational tasks, including cleaning and organizing work areas.
  • Prepare accurate labels for medication containers and package them for dispensing.
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacy staff to ensure efficient pharmacy operations.
  • Educate patients on the proper use and storage of their medications as instructed by the pharmacist.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all pharmacy transactions and activities in the system.
  • Attend ongoing training and education sessions to stay informed about industry practices.
  • Support the pharmacist in administrative tasks, including billing and insurance processing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education qualification is required.
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy setting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Outstanding communication and customer service skills are essential.
  • Basic knowledge of pharmacy operations and common medications dispensed.
  • Certification in pharmacy technology or coursework is an advantage.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
