Assistant to Laundry Manager | Abu Dhabi Palace – UAE

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Assistant to Laundry Manager will support the Laundry Manager in coordinating the palace’s high-volume, luxury-standard laundry operations. This role assists with staff supervision, workflow management, garment finishing, and quality assurance for household linen, uniforms, and VIP family clothing. The position requires strong reliability, attention to detail, good communication, and a discreet, polished service ethic appropriate for a royal household.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• 3–5 years’ experience in commercial or institutional laundry
• Prior experience in 5-star hotels, luxury residences, or private estates (preferred)
• Solid knowledge of stain treatment, fabric handling, and garment finishing
• Competent in operating commercial laundry systems and equipment
• Experience supporting and instructing laundry teams
• Strong organizational, scheduling, and workflow abilities
• Service-minded attitude and discretion when handling personal items
• Fluent in English; other languages an advantage
• Able to work efficiently in a multicultural team and under direction

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the Laundry Manager in daily operations and staff supervision
• Assist with quality control for all garments and textiles
• Ensure correct sorting, washing temperatures, chemicals, and treatments are used
• Assist with staff task allocation and shift coordination
• Report equipment issues and help coordinate maintenance
• Perform physical laundry duties as required alongside team members
• Assist with inventory tracking of detergents, chemicals, and stock levels
• Support onboarding and training of new laundry staff
• Handle delicate and designer garments with correct care procedures
• Maintain a high standard of hygiene, safety, and presentation
• Represent the laundry department with professionalism and discretion
