Job Description

The Assistant Financial Controller is a pivotal role within the finance team, responsible for supporting the Financial Controller in managing the company's financial operations and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting. This position serves as a critical point of contact for internal stakeholders and is instrumental in maintaining robust financial controls and compliance with relevant regulations and policies. The Assistant Financial Controller will play an active role in financial planning, analysis, and the preparation of accurate financial statements. A keen eye for detail, advanced analytical skills, and a strong grasp of accounting principles are essential for success in this position. Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Support the Financial Controller in budgeting and forecasting activities and variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and relevant financial regulations.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation during audits.
  • Monitor and analyze financial data and trends to support business decisions.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of financial processes and controls.
  • Prepare detailed balance sheet reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Assist in cash flow management and financial risk assessments to optimize resources.
  • Develop and oversee financial models to support strategic planning and operational performance.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor junior finance staff to ensure high performance and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant finance or accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations, accounting standards, and reporting requirements.
  • Proficient in financial software systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills; capable of explaining complex financial concepts clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a high-functioning team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
