Job Description

The Assistant Financial Controller plays a crucial role in managing financial processes, ensuring accuracy, and providing valuable insights to drive financial performance. This position requires a candidate who is both detail-oriented and possesses strong analytical skills to support the financial activities of an organization. The Assistant Financial Controller is responsible for assisting in the preparation of financial reports, developing budgets, and conducting financial analysis to guide decision-making. Additionally, they work closely with other departments to ensure that financial practices align with organizational goals and compliance requirements. A capable Assistant Financial Controller helps in identifying opportunities for improvement in financial processes and supports strategic initiatives by providing reliable financial data and forecasts.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and consolidation of monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Review and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Support budgeting processes by providing detailed financial analysis and insights.
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop financial strategies and optimize budgets.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance metrics against historical data and forecasts.
  • Implement and maintain effective financial controls and procedures throughout the organization.
  • Assist in managing audits and liaise with external auditors for audit completion.
  • Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities to improve financial efficiency.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts to ensure the organization meets financial obligations.
  • Develop and enhance financial reporting tools to support decision-making processes.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, laws, and standards.
  • Support senior management with ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in finance or accounting roles.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations, accounting principles, and procedures.
  • Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
