Job Description

The Assistant Contract Manager - Civil plays a pivotal role in supporting the Contract Manager and ensuring that all contractual dealings are handled efficiently and according to company standards. This position requires expertise in civil engineering, contracts administration, and project management, alongside a keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills. The Assistant Contract Manager is responsible for collaborating with multiple stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams, to ensure projects are executed smoothly and comply with all legal and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve any disputes that may arise during the contract lifecycle. This role is vital in driving project success and maintaining the company's reputation for excellence in civil engineering contract management.


Responsibilities

  • Assist the Contract Manager in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing civil engineering contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with legal standards and company policies in all contracts.
  • Maintain and update contractual records, documents, and correspondence actively.
  • Collaborate with project teams to align contract terms with project goals.
  • Monitor contract performance to ensure fulfillment of all contractual obligations.
  • Identify risks and issues in contracts and propose mitigating solutions promptly.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between clients, contractors, and project teams.
  • Assist in negotiations with stakeholders to reach satisfactory contract terms and conditions.
  • Manage contract change procedures and prepare related documentation as needed.
  • Assist in dispute resolution and provide solutions to contractual conflicts effectively.
  • Provide contract-related advice and support to all relevant internal departments.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and changes affecting contract management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in contract management in the civil sector.
  • Strong understanding of contract law and civil engineering principles.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple contracts and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required for stakeholder interaction.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical and logical approach.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
