Job Description

The Assistant Contract Manager - Civil position offers an exciting opportunity to engage in the management and oversight of civil engineering contracts and projects. In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior management to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the specific quality standards required. You are expected to have a strong grasp of contract administration and a keen eye for detail, facilitating the smooth execution of contracts. This role requires an individual who can juggle multiple tasks simultaneously, with experience in the civil engineering sector being a significant advantage. Effective communication skills are vital, as the role involves regular interaction with contractors, clients, and stakeholders to maintain aligned project objectives and expectations.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration and management of civil engineering contracts.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure contract specifications are met.
  • Monitor project timelines and milestones to keep projects on schedule.
  • Support the negotiation and drafting of contracts and agreements.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management regarding project statuses.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and legal requirements.
  • Liaise with contractors and subcontractors to address project-related queries.
  • Oversee project budget and assist in financial planning and management.
  • Conduct risk assessments and propose solutions to mitigate potential issues.
  • Organize and lead meetings with stakeholders to align project goals.
  • Maintain documentation and record-keeping for all contract-related activities.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to resolve any conflicts or disputes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in contract management for civil projects.
  • Strong understanding of contract law and industry standards.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and negotiation skills are required.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Attention to detail with a capability to manage multiple priorities.
