Job Description

An Assistant Contract Manager in the civil sector plays an integral role in the coordination and execution of contract management processes. This role is essential for the smooth operation of projects and ensuring that all contractual obligations are met with precision. Working under the supervision of the Contract Manager, you will assist in the preparation, negotiation, and administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Your role will involve collaboration with various departments, including procurement, legal, and operations, to facilitate effective contract management. You will be expected to maintain thorough documentation, communicate effectively with all stakeholders, and provide insightful support to resolve any contractual issues. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in contract management and contribute to large-scale civil engineering projects.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of contracts with vendors and clients.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure all contract terms are being met consistently.
  • Monitor the performance against contract terms and conditions across multiple projects.
  • Maintain and organize accurate records and documentation for all contracts and agreements.
  • Support the Contract Manager in resolving any contractual disputes or issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and manage contract reports, providing updates to management as required.
  • Participate in meetings with stakeholders to discuss current contracts and future projects.
  • Evaluate risks involved in current contracts and suggest areas of improvement or adjustment.
  • Assist in managing contract renewals and amendments in a timely manner.
  • Provide documentation and analysis for contract audits and compliance checks.
  • Foster strong relationships with external partners and stakeholders for ongoing projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in contract management or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of contract law and relevant regulatory requirements in civil projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective stakeholder interaction.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management software tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
