Job Description

The Assistant Accountant role is pivotal in maintaining the financial health and integrity of an organization. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong aptitude for numbers and financial reporting. As an Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the finance team by managing various accounting tasks. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial data entry, assisting with budget preparation, and facilitating timely financial reports. This position requires someone who is detail-oriented, deadline-focused, and can work efficiently under pressure to maintain the financial operations' smooth flow. Your contribution will be essential in helping the team comply with statutory requirements and internal policies.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and verification of financial documents and reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions for assigned accounts.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of transactions.
  • Support the finance manager with budget preparation and monitoring activities.
  • Process invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial transactions efficiently.
  • Prepare and maintain accounting documents such as ledgers and journals.
  • Assist in the analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts monthly.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and assist during audit processes.
  • Help implement and monitor controls to ensure compliance with accounting processes.
  • Provide administrative support to the finance department as required.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulations.
  • Contribute to the improvement of financial reporting procedures and systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Proven experience in an accounting or finance role highly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software essential.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills necessary.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective reporting.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work performed.
