Job Description

An Application Support Analyst 29D25 plays a crucial role in maintaining the effective operation of software applications within an organization. This position involves bridging the gap between users of software applications and the technical team responsible for development and maintenance. The support analysts are tasked with troubleshooting issues related to these applications, ensuring minimal disruption in business operations, and providing a high level of customer service. They are also involved in configuring and testing applications, documenting processes and solutions, and offering training or guidance to end-users. The role requires a combination of strong technical competency, problem-solving aptitude, and excellent communication skills to manage diverse user expectations and needs effectively. Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level and second-level support to resolve application issues promptly.
  • Analyze and diagnose problems reported by users in a timely manner.
  • Document troubleshooting processes and solutions for future reference and training.
  • Collaborate with the development team to escalate and fix complex software problems.
  • Monitor application performance and implement solutions to optimize efficiency.
  • Conduct application testing to ensure functionality after updates and patches.
  • Assist in application configuration to tailor software solutions to business needs.
  • Train users on new features, updates, and best practices for application usage.
  • Maintain communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment on application issues.
  • Participate in compliance and governance processes related to software applications.
  • Prepare detailed reports of application uptime and service interruptions for management.
  • Develop user manuals and training materials to enhance end-user experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an application support or similar role required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle technical issues effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for user interaction and documentation.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with SQL, databases, and enterprise application software solutions.
  • Proven experience with ITIL practices and service management methodologies is desirable.
