Job Description

An Application Analyst is responsible for the oversight and management of software applications used within a business or organization. This pivotal role involves understanding the software needs of the company, recommending and implementing applications to improve business efficiency, and troubleshooting any software-related issues. The Application Analyst works closely with IT teams, end-users, and vendors to ensure applications are effectively supporting organizational objectives. This role also involves maintaining application guidance documents, conducting application testing, and ensuring the security and performance of applications. Considering the rapidly evolving technology landscape, an Application Analyst must stay informed of industry trends and best practices to recommend cutting-edge solutions that meet the enterprise’s evolving needs.


Responsibilities

  • Analyze and manage software applications to ensure business objectives are met.
  • Collaborate with IT personnel to design and deploy software modifications.
  • Conduct regular application testing to ensure reliable performance for end-users.
  • Identify potential software improvements and recommend innovative changes.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for software installations and updates.
  • Develop application resources and guidance documents for user education.
  • Manage application helpdesk queries providing timely support for issues.
  • Monitor application security protocols to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Regularly report software performance metrics to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations in software usage.
  • Track and log application changes for accurate version control documentation.
  • Stay updated on the latest technological developments to maintain technological competitiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience of three years or more as an Application Analyst.
  • Strong understanding of application lifecycle management and software development.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with various database management systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a strategic approach to issue resolution.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under strict deadlines.
