POWERTECH is a center of excellence for propulsion technologies, specializing in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of combustion engines, expendable turbojet engines, and turbofan engines for a wide range of aerospace, defence, and autonomous applications, including fixed- and rotary-wing UAVs and other advanced platforms.

Purpose

The Advanced Inspection Engineer I supports Powertech’s propulsion programs by assisting in inspection and metrology activities during prototype development, New Product Introduction (NPI), and early manufacturing phases. The role focuses on supporting dimensional inspection activities, inspection planning, metrology documentation, and measurement execution for propulsion components and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection Execution Support

  • Support dimensional inspection activities for propulsion components and assemblies
  • Assist in operating metrology and inspection equipment including:
    • CMMs
    • Calipers
    • Micrometers
    • Height gauges
    • Optical measurement systems
  • Support basic CMM programming and inspection setup activities

NPI & Prototype Support

  • Support inspection activities during prototype and early production builds
  • Assist in First Article Inspection (FAI) activities and documentation preparation

Inspection Documentation

  • Assist in preparation of:
    • Inspection reports
    • Measurement records
    • Inspection work instructions
    • Control plans
  • Ensure inspection records are maintained accurately and traceably

Desig & Manufacturing Collaboration

  • Support manufacturing and design teams with inspection-related inputs
  • Participate in design reviews to understand inspection and tolerance requirements
  • Escalate dimensional or inspection concerns to senior engineers

Supplier & Quality Support

  • Support supplier inspection activities and incoming inspection reviews
  • Assist in verification of supplier documentation and dimensional reports

Continuous Improvement

  • Support inspection process improvements and standardization initiatives
  • Contribute to development of inspection best practices and lessons learned
  • Maintain good housekeeping and calibration compliance within inspection areas

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Aerospace Engineering
    • Manufacturing Engineering
    • Metrology Engineering
Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in:
    • Inspection
    • Metrology
    • Manufacturing Engineering
    • Quality Engineering
  • Aerospace or precision manufacturing experience preferred
