Job Description

The Accounting Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing an organization's financial processes. This position is responsible for managing a team of accountants and ensuring that all financial records are accurate and up-to-date. An effective Accounting Manager has a keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills, which are essential for maintaining the integrity of financial statements. This role involves coordinating and directing the financial planning, budgeting, procurement, and investment activities of the organization. The Accounting Manager will also prepare financial reports to inform strategic decision-making by senior management. This crucial role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, proficiency in accounting software, and excellent communication skills to liaise with various departments and external stakeholders.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Oversee daily operations of the accounting department to ensure efficiency.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes to meet strict deadlines.
  • Maintain a strong system of internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to improve departmental performance.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise accounting staff to maintain team efficiency.
  • Coordinate with auditors to facilitate audit processes and resolve issues.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Work closely with other departments to address their financial inquiries and needs.
  • Prepare forecasts and budgets, providing variance analysis and recommendations.
  • Manage relationships with external partners such as banks and auditors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • A minimum of five years of professional accounting experience is necessary.
  • Certification such as CPA or CMA is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in accounting software, such as QuickBooks or SAP, is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial for this role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal financial regulations and policies.
