Job Description

An Accounting Assistant plays a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of a company by supporting the accounting department in various financial tasks. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process financial documents such as bills, receipts, and invoices.
  • Assist in month-end financial reports preparation and year-end audits.
  • Maintain and update accounting records and reconcile discrepancies regularly.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are entered accurately in the accounting software.
  • Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting as directed by management.
  • Handle all correspondence and queries related to accounts and financial operations.
  • Support in processing payroll accurately and in a timely manner each pay cycle.
  • Assist in the evaluation of financial operations to recommend best practices.
  • Work collaboratively with the accounting team to accomplish financial tasks efficiently.
  • Manage the petty cash fund, ensuring all transactions are accounted for correctly.
  • Verify accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents and records.
  • Assist in inventory accounting, tracking, and financial controls management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and accounting software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in business processing.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial and employee records.
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks is an advantage.
