Job Description

As an Accounting Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the accounting department by managing daily bookkeeping tasks and ensuring accuracy in financial recordkeeping. You will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of financial reports, processing accounts payable and receivable, and reconciling bank statements. Your analytical and organizational skills will be put to use as you help maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal and external audits. You will work closely with other team members to streamline accounting operations and assist in addressing inquiries from internal departments and external vendors. Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented, brings prior accounting experience, and possesses a proactive attitude towards problem-solving.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and management of financial reports and statements.
  • Process accounts payable invoices and manage vendor payment schedules efficiently.
  • Compile and analyze financial data for accuracy and compliance purposes.
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies in financial records.
  • Support daily accounting operations including data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Assist in preparing tax returns and ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Work with internal departments to collect and review financial information.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all financial transactions.
  • Coordinate with auditors to support financial auditing processes annually.
  • Respond to accounting inquiries from internal team members and vendors promptly.
  • Participate in developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assist in processing payroll and ensure compliance with payroll regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required.
  • Proven experience working as an accounting assistant or related role required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting required.
  • Experience with processing payroll and handling tax-related matters is advantageous.
