Job Description

An accountant plays a crucial role in any organization by managing financial records, ensuring accuracy, and advising on financial decisions. They are responsible for preparing financial statements, examining financial trends, and maintaining financial health for the business. Responsibilities

  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other reports.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and government regulations.
  • Develop, implement, modify, and document record-keeping and accounting systems.
  • Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment deadlines.
  • Maintain and regulate subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
  • Provide support during budget preparation and financial forecasts for management review.
  • Reconcile account discrepancies by investigating and resolving issues for accuracy.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits and compliance checks.
  • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, and financial commitments to predict future earnings or expenses.
  • Advise on cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and profit maximization strategies.
  • Assist in the management of a company’s financial transactions according to cash flow predictions.
  • Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is essential.
  • CPA certification is highly preferred for this position.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle is required.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to financial detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience in a corporate setting is needed.
  • Understanding of applicable laws and regulations with ethical integrity in handling financial information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with team members and management.
